On Sunday, we are leaving to head to Ormond Beach, FL for the week. We are SO excited. We haven't been on many vacations, and I'm the only one of us who has ever been to the beach. I couldn't believe that will all the traveling Grady has done, he's never, ever been to a beach, but he hasn't. We are driving (all 13 hours of it), but Grady's sister Sarah and her husband Ricky live in Atlanta, GA, which is the half-way mark, and they are allowing us to crash there Sunday night. Then we will drive the rest of the way on Monday and check into the resort that afternoon. On Friday, we'll be heading back, but we plan to stop in Atlanta again, and visit for the weekend.
We are so fortunate to have our best friends accompanying us to Florida with their children, and we are all very excited. To help Abby count the days before we leave, I helped her make a countdown-to-the-beach poster, complete with a watercolor of the beach and paper chain. She gets to tear off one link of the paper chain each night before bed. The night before we leave, only the painting of the beach will remain.

| This was shortly before they both nearly melted down due to the plight of having smurf-hands...it got pretty ugly. And for the record, Crayola fingerpaint is NOT easy to get off of hands. That doesn't make sense. |
