Berry Picking

We so enjoy stepping into our backyard and being able to return to the house carrying food! Our mulberry tree produced wonderfully for about one solid week. Sadly, our harvest season was cut short by a week of cooler (actually, wonderful, heavenly) weather. We enjoyed the lovely break from the heat, but our mulberries are gone until next year.

At least we picked all we could during that one week...and we have quite a bit frozen for later!

We brought in this much each day for just over a week before our cool spell. We ate all we wanted and froze the rest. We don't really eat jam, so just wash them and freeze them to snack on later. Berries are great frozen!
