Busy week...Memphis Zoo and the Circus!

Last week we had a wonderful time, but were extremely busy. We're glad to be a bit less active this week, but here are a few of the highlights from last week.

On Tuesday after Zoe's therapy and our weekly Target trip, we took our two girls and our niece, Destiny (who was on fall break last week) to the Memphis Zoo. It was chilly and rainy, but being prepared make such a huge difference in our day, and we had a blast!
We brought the double stroller, but Abby walked the whole time.

She was so excited to use her Ariel umbrella.

Zoe stayed warm and snuggly in the stroller.

This guy was captivated with looking in the windows of the little restaurant at all of the people.

Grady the Gorilla

It was really surprising seeing which animals really enjoyed chilly, rainy weather.

These are from Africa.

These are African elephants. Who knew they liked cool weather?

Abby and Destiny sought out any place to escape the falling raindrops, even if it meant pictures.

I thought this bear looked so sweet and maybe a little lonely.

On Thursday evening, we took our two girls, Destiny and two of our nephews to the Circus that was in town. Abby was so excited that she got to ride a pony, and she and Destiny got to ride a elephant together. We were really surprised they didn't chicken out at the last minute. I think it really helped that they were together. All of the kids had a great time...well, so did we :)

Abby stood so she could twirl while the dancers were also twirling.

She caught me with the camera :)

If our week had not already been busy enough, we realized we really needed to carve our pumpkin, so Grady and Abby worked on that.

At storytime last Friday, the theme was pumpkins and pumpkin books. One of the books was about making a pumpkin scarecrow, and Abby insisted we should do that. So Grady went to work to make it happen. We only had one large pumpkin, so the scarecrow had to have a shrunken pumpkin head. She was so proud of their creation.
